Hunter91 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Still catching some whites way up the creeks at Stockton. Went yesterday evening and caught 8 nice whites on swimming minnows in about 2 ft of water right before dark. Some other fisherman were doing much better than we were and had even caught a few walleyes.
Dutch Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 The last time I was there all the females which I caught were spawned out. They will be scattering shortly.
Dutch Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 hunter have you been getting in on any of the 12-13" crappie hugging the weeds?
Hunter91 Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 Dutch, You are right about them being spawned out. The ones we caught were good ones but none had eggs in them and none were males for certain that I could tell.
Hunter91 Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 Not lately. About two weeks ago we were catching whites and crappie right at the edge of the weeds. I did see a ton of boat pounding the bank around the CC hwy access earlier this week, don't know if they were catching anything or not.
Dutch Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I'll bet money that is what they were doing. The crappie have moved a little as the water has come up.
Dutch Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Hunter the main lake at night is starting to pick up. We had many, many fish the other night. We caught whites, largemouth, smallmouth, Kentuckies, and walleye. They were mostly on points about 15' deep.
Hunter91 Posted April 21, 2007 Author Posted April 21, 2007 Gonna give it a try in the morning for a couple hours in Sons Creek. i'll let you know what happens.
Dutch Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 I haven't been there yet this year. We caught gobs of them on the main lake points last night.
