yaknar Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 I got out on the river this weekend and now I'm going on 6 years, in a row, of catching a walleye on the James. Caught her just down from Delaware access. I'm fish the same way I do every year but this year I'm catching a lot of catfish. At first I was thinking it was because the river was always up when I went, but now I cant figure it out. Nothing wrong with catching one, they put up a good fight and take a good while to land as they tow me around in the kayak. On this trip caught smallmouth, a mess of goggle eyes, three cats, pumpkinseeds and one Walleye. All on shallow and deep crankbaits. I remember when i used to post pic of smallmouth, is there a catfish forum on this site...just kidding. The river was in great condition. When I took out there were 12 kayaks and 2 canoes putting in. Released them all. Great day to be out on the river.... tho1mas, bs1827, Flysmallie and 9 others 12
