DOITLOOKIT Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Had a good day at Truman Tailwaters yesterday. There were four of us and the pictures are a sample of what was caught. Fished from 4:00 p.m till a little after dark. All together we had 9 hybrids up to 10 pounds 41 white bass and 38 crappie. Most were caught on 3 inch pearl sliders with a one-eight oz. pink head.
pvspmo Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Way to go Coach. Looks like a fun evening of fishing. I suppose Greve was with you. Talk to you later. Pat V
vonreed Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Was you fishing out of a boat or just off the bank by the dam?
DOITLOOKIT Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Pat, yes Greve was with me as was Roy and Nelson Morrison and Holmes Teagarden. Von we were fishing from the bank next to the handicap ramp. Good to hear from you Pat. Come and join us. Give me a call.
pvspmo Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 You didn't let Roy catch any of those fish did you??? Good to hear from you too, glad to see your still out there catching those fish. Somebody needs to be. I will... I'll call you later this week.
gonefishin Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I fished there last week. Didn't fare so well. Caught a few crappie and white bass plus a couple of short walleye. I wish it wasn't so far up there from Marshfield. I would like to go more often. Of course if the price of gas would come down it wouldn't be so far; or rather it wouldn't seem so far. The cost of the trip from empty to full costs way to much anymore and has gotten to where it is cutting into my fishing time. I hope to go up that way again next week. I hope they are still biting. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
DOITLOOKIT Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Gone, you need to get creative. We carpool. We get four people in the car and drive from Springfield and share the gas expense and everyone else buys the driver supper for wear and tear on his car. Takes us about one hour and thrity minutes depending on how many eighteen wheelers you get behind.
Dutch Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Sounds like we need to carpool about 25 cars and get in on the action. I hope Bass Pro has that many sliders and pink headed jigs.
DOITLOOKIT Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Dutch, We would like to have you tag-along. We won't be going up tomorrow. The generation schedule only shows a 10 for generation. It's needs to be 60 or 90 or 120 to be effection. Come join us. The website for generation is www.swpa.gov/generation.htm. All dams are located and Truman is HST.

The tailrace at Warsaw is my favorite place to fish this time of year. Anyway regardless I will be up there next week. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather. I don't mind fishing in the rain but it makes me a little nervous to stand next to the water and wave a lightning rod around at the sky when it is storming. I would rather be fishin'.
