drew03cmc Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Why was it moved? That is a completely different river than the Black. The Blackwater is southeast of KC about 40 miles and I was wondering if anyone had fished it. It and the Lamine converge and then run to the Missouri river. Andy
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 13, 2007 Root Admin Posted April 13, 2007 Opps. I'll move it back.
am4mu Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I went to high school and college in Concordia, Mo. During this time I fished the Blackwater from Concordia over to Sweet Springs. In this part of the river there was no bass activity. Now maybe that has changed over the years I really don't know. I am at Lilley's right now. When I get back to work next week I work I will talk to a good fisherman who works with me from Concordia and ask him about present day conditions and get back with you. Good luck. drew03cmc Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 Thanks Phil, thanks Doug. No bass activity...odd for a MO river. Andy
am4mu Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Drew, I talked to that buddy of mine from Cocordia, Mo. as promised and he agreed with me that to this day in the Johnson, Saline county areas of this body of water, bass will not be found unless it is a very rare instance. Primary problem, this is farm country with a lot of run off creating chocolate milk water. I also checked my copy of 200 Missouri Smallmouth Adventures by Chuck Tryon and he does not mention this body of water either. I hope you can prove me wrong.
