Members Bass Ivy Posted November 24, 2017 Members Posted November 24, 2017 Anyone ever tried Creek Chubs in Beaver on Stripers? I tried them years ago but I didn’t know what I was doing At the time. I think they should work. just don’t know how good they would work.
Dan the fisherman Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 I’ve used them. They work good. Shad are just easier to catch for me. Not that chubs aren’t easy to catch, it’s just going and them and bring them home and keeping them till I go is too much trouble for me.
Stump bumper Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 I've used sunfish because it was all I netted and they worked ok that day, caught more green fish then stripers. It really depends on the day, I have used brooders when they are dialed in on shad and would not touch the brooders, then I have seen days when it was a certain size of shad that got the bite. But then there are days they will hit anything. Tell me where I can net some chubs fast on Beaver and I will try, used up all my fishing time trying to catch bait last trip out.

Members Bass Ivy Posted November 25, 2017 Author Members Posted November 25, 2017 I tell you where I seen some nice ones. In that creek at the Shiloh pavilion in Springdale West johnson avenue. But I just looked and. It’s the head of spring creek which is a tributary of the Illinois River. So I guess can’t use them from that creek.
