Members Duke 59 Posted January 3, 2018 Members Posted January 3, 2018 This is my first winter here on beaver and need advice. The last time I was out was about 3 weeks ago. I was fishing for stripers and was able to find some in the prairie creek area, up some of the arms. Now that it is much colder, do I need to move further south...below the bridge, or am I ok staying here closer to the marina. such as coose or prairie creek arms? Probably will try going out on friday, if the forecast holds. Thanks, greg
Stump bumper Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Find the shad and you will find the stripers, if the shad are thick in 2 feet of water the stripers will follow. If the shad go to 50 feet the stripers will follow. Just remember that 2 degrees difference in water temp is life and death for a threadfin shad. If you can find feeding birds, they will lead you to shad. Sore Thumbs 1
