Bittle Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Had some buddies in town this weekend and they wanted to fish. We tried to hit the James River arm of Table Rock for anything that would bite. It was tough, I caught one spot on a spinnerbait and we had one bluegill on a grub. No Crappie, No Whites. We began setting out trotlines to see what we could find. Put them out on Thursday morning and pulled them sunday evening. Had 8 or 9 total. all but one was male channels. the other was a flathead. They all ranged from 6 to 9 pounds. Caught one crappie on the trotline as well. I wasn't too optimistic with the cold front coming through but was glad to pull a few in. Most people fishing were stirring up the water. Good Luck. Bittle
Seth Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I didn't hear much about the crappie or white bass this past weekend when we were down there. There was quite a few bass rigs flying up and down the James Sunday and lots of people beating the crappie beds. Me and two other guys went down to snag some paddlefish though and we did well. We got 13 paddlefish in two days ranging from one that was 33" on up to 65 pounds.
