CMAC Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 The heartland derby this weekend was almost unbelievable if I had not seen it with my own eyes. The buddy tournament took almost 23lbs to win, 16.20 something to get your money back (33rd), not to mention the top 15 places were all over 20+lbs. On record probably the most fish and weight that I have ever witnessed. Most who spoke said the jig bite was on anywhere you threw it. We fished on saturday (H-Deck) had 8 keepers, best five would have got at least our money back (if we fished the derby). All on a jig and all relatively close to main lake points. Sunday didn't dissapoint either, completely different day with the sunshine. No word on crappie, haven't been.
Gavin Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 My dad said they did really well on crappie on Sunday.

Hopefully the jig bite keeps up for the big bass bash this weekend!! Any idea what kind of pattern these guys were on? And does the lake seem to be still in the pre-spawn from the effect of the cold front last week? Thanks man! I'll have more to report next week....
