Members jwingo Posted May 11, 2018 Members Posted May 11, 2018 When reading fishing reports, I am seeing references to the upper end and lower end. Can someone explain to me where this invisible dividing line might be. Thanks in advance.
MOPanfisher Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 Well obviously there is no set dividing line. To me on the Pomme arm, lower lake would be the dam to wheatland park, mid lake wheatland to Lightfoot or so, and upper would be above lightfoot, and way up would be above bolivar landing, but ya better know where you are going and exercise caution up there. Lindeed side lower - dam to Hermitage swim beach, med - hermitage swim beach to haverstick or so, upper above that. I don't remember the mile marker numbers.
Members jwingo Posted May 11, 2018 Author Members Posted May 11, 2018 Thanks for the information. These are those things I should have paid attention to when I was a child. Both sets of my grandparents lived at Pomme when I was growing up. I am sure both grandpas explained this to me when they took me fishing, I just chose not to listen. I am familiar with the lake, just did not know what was considered up and lower.
MOPanfisher Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 I don't know I grew up fishing it and never heard the term lower or upper lake back then.
Members dembones Posted May 12, 2018 Members Posted May 12, 2018 My folks owned the state park marina in 70's and 80's. Then the points where different numbers.... I still can't grasp the new number system..they even have a number way up the rivers ... I guess they are mile markers now. Oh well, I think I'll just stay in the 70s
MOPanfisher Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Exactly, those markers are mile markers. L for the Lindley Side, P for the Pomme side. You will see the same thing on Truman. zarraspook 1
