Krazo Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 I'm headed to pomme tomorrow morning to fish with my wife. First time on this lake, we usually fish way up the arms of stockton, near lake river boundaries. Going after crappie, or whatever we can find. any suggestions on what ramp to use (or not use), what arm of the lake or what to look for to find fish? i'm thinking i should find fish in 15-25' around timber/brush or bluffs. Pittsburg ramp is what i had in mind because it looks like water im a little more familiar with but reports on here sure make the wheatland area look appealing.
Krazo Posted June 24, 2018 Author Posted June 24, 2018 Thanks. Being our first time on Pomme wasnt quite sure what to expect. we ended up at Bolivar Landing. Ran up river to the first group of docks and a bluff around them. Fished for 40 min or so and found really shallow water and no fish. decided we needed out of the shallow water before I blow a lower unit or do any damage to the boat and we headed down the lake. we found several areas holding fish, bluffs/timber around the channel and deeper water. Pomme did live up to its reputation, we prob caught 10 shorts for every 1 keeper but it was a ton of fun and no shortage of 'fish on!' Hunter91 and Alaskageek 2
