For you guys talking about how clear the water is in places now... This is from the Arkansas Game and Fish fishing report:

Fishing Tip: Larry Hurley at Poormans Guide Service gives this bit of advice for fishing Arkansas clear lakes:

"Although the waters of some lakes may look clear, they actually have a greenish tint to them that will make clear monofilaments stand out. In lakes like Ouachita and DeGray, try using a low-visibility green line instead of clear whenever the bite is slow. You can also take a green or brown magic marker and color the line for a few feet above the lure to get interested fish to commit to hitting."

If this works, we want plenty of fish porn to look at of your catches...

Terry- did you get that off KY3's site? KY3 is trying to get me to do some advertising with them and they sent me some links... I noticed that all their fishing info came out of Arkansas! And this was one.

The Orvis Super Strong Tippet that I use has a greenish tint to it.

Phil,

No... it came from the AGFC weekly fishing report which I get emailed to me every week. Go to their website to sign up. They have a weekly newsletter on AGFC activities and in the winter, you can get duck updates.

John,

I've noticed a green tint to some Orvis leaders and tippet. I wonder if that's why. Also, I've begun using Maxim line for tippet which has a green tent. Interesting......

Terry:

I need to learn to communicate better with the written word. The last sentence was referring again to Leonard telling you he was available to give you more insight. I'm still learning from all of you.............

I will stick with my Winston WT, a gift from my better half............

Sorry for the misunderstanding

Geez... I wish MY wife loved ME enough to buy me a Winston...

Anyway... I knew you meant from Leonard... but my dyslexia set in... The rod brand advice question was initiated to get some groans from half of the guys on here who have listened to the other half confuse people on what brand rod is best...

Hey Leonard and Dano... think we should talk about using gloves to handle fish?

Terry, I like to use gloves to gently disturb the substrate of the stream. You get all the advantages of shuffling, but it's not nearly as damaging to the stream bed. I like something in an earth-tone so as not to spook the fish....
