Members wagage Posted May 29, 2007 Author Members Posted May 29, 2007 JR Sounds like you got in on 'em for sure! I think we're going to try to fish this weekend if it all works out. Are they starting at 7 again this week or are they going back to 6? I think we're going to have to try something different. We fished AR two weeks ago trying to find some better LM but just couldn't find many keeper fish to speak of. May try to fish the brownies this week, sounds like they're starting to get right. Any advice since you're not fishing this week? I'm not asking for GPS coordinates or anything like that. Just an idea on what the fish are doing. PM me if you want. Thanks, B. Gage
Members whats bitin' Posted May 30, 2007 Members Posted May 30, 2007 Hey all, I am really interested in the 86 tourney, but wont be able to do it this weekend, maybe next. How does a guy enter it? Do you just show up a little before launch time at the long creek ramp? Thanks, dont worry though, ya'll would of kick my butt anyway =)
Gone Fishing Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 The tourney is from 7p.m. to 1a.m All you have to do is be at the 86 ramp in time to pay and put in. It is a fun tourney that had 19 boats last week.
Members wagage Posted May 31, 2007 Author Members Posted May 31, 2007 Is it going to be 7 to 1 the rest of the summer? I thought they were just doing that because of the holiday traffic. We're going to fish it this week, I just want to make sure we're on time. I'd hate to show up at 7 and it be at 6.
Jeremy Rasnick Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Gage- We caught our Fish Between Indian Point and 86. The fish had no rhyme or reason to them. We only had one keeper smallie and thats what we were honestly trying to target. We had our best success on Black and Blue Jigs on the Bluffy Type Banks around the mouth or Beardsly. We also Caught a couple on Satly Craws. I wish we could meet up. I will be in Van Buren this weekend Fishing a smallmouth Tourney. I do believe you are completly on track to go south as well. IF we wouldn't have picked up the largmouth that we did on the north portion of the lake as mentioned above we would have done the same thing. My full intention was to try to catch smallmouth and KY's in the Dam area and head south for a kicker.......Good Luck to you, Another tourney to keep in mind is the K Dock Tourney on Bull Shoals...My Girlfriend Natalie and I got 4th out of 16 boats on Tuesday Night she had 2 Keepers and So Did I. Fishing is very tough on that lake in my opionion but it doesn't take a lot of weight to get in the money. Whats Bitin------ Keep in mind that this isn't the ramp at Long Creek. This is the ramp on the west side of the lake just south or the State Park. I live in Branson So i just put in at state park and Boat across. Keep me posted...>Im jealous taht I don't get to play on the Rock this weekend.
J.E. Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Jeremy, Van Buren? I travel Ft. Smith area every once in a while and would hook up with the guys on Tuesday night fishing the river. Goes out of the ramp by the bridge there between Van Buren and Ft. Smith. Good bunch of guys.
Gone Fishing Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Wagage....The tourney does for sure start at 7p.m. I'll be there and hope to see you there. Good Luck.
J.E. Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 The wedn night tourn at the sk bridge runs 7 pm to 11:00. Its been taking well over 20 lbs to win and it's not been me. $25 entry fee friday night at camp pt. ramp--- 7:30 pm to 1:00. took 24 lbs last week. $35 entry fee saturday night at cape fair, starts this satr night at 7:00. I think. friday night at cape fair, 7:00. i'm not sure about the cape fair times but I'll check it out and repost tomorrow. I had heard mill cr (near kc) is going to have some night tourn. but don't know anything for sure. Let me know who puts on the Sat. night Cape Fair tournaments if you would please. Someone should talk to those boys out of Cape Fair about some of the actions of the people fishing their little derby. I was sitting on a point by Aunt's Creek when they came running down, about six or seven of them. Two of them, one champion with a big boy in it passed me on plane no more than fourty feet away, that would be two boat lengths, while I'm on the TM with a rod in my hand. He had the nerve to wave as he went by. The other guy in the ranger ran betweem me and the bank. I've fished a lot of tournaments including three circuits right now and have never seen so many inconsiderate "fishermen" in my life. Must be the big bucks they are fishing for?
Members whats bitin' Posted June 4, 2007 Members Posted June 4, 2007 Jeremy, Thanks for the clarification, I live in branson and would put in at state park too. Where would I boat too after that exactly. I have a blue avalanche or drive a grey tahoe pulling a red/black champion if you see me. Thanks
bassman1308 Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 J.E.-- I'll PM the cape fair tourn. people. There does seem to be more Inconsiderate people on the lakes these days. Fishermen AND pleasure boaters. Some of them just do not know better but i think most just don't care or think about how their actions may affect others. Just last week near shell knob, within a 15 minute period, I had 2 different, speeding, pleasure boats shut down within 30 yds of my boat as I was fishing near a dock they wanted to tie up to. Their wake tossed my 20' ranger around pretty good. It simply amazes me that people would do something like this. In the old days, someone would have gotten an a--whippen and they would of learned a lesson the hard way, but now days, you'd end up in jail. To a more important subject, did you catch fish???
