Members trouthappy Posted May 9, 2007 Members Posted May 9, 2007 A friend and I are doing a one day float trip down Taney. We are starting at the dam in the morning around 8am or 9am (pontoons) and floating downstream until around 3 or 4pm. Where's a boat ramp for us to exit the river and do that long of a trip? What's a good two day trip? Trouthappy
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 9, 2007 Root Admin Posted May 9, 2007 Cooper Creek would be perfect I'd say. If you want to concentrate on just the trophy area, take out at Riverpointe Estates but it will cost you a couple of bucks.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 The problem with a two day is where to camp, Taney doesn't have a flood pool. There is an area about halfway to Rockaway, but its not open because of some dispute over boundary's. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members trouthappy Posted May 9, 2007 Author Members Posted May 9, 2007 Thanks guys! The Cooper's Creek ramp is perfect! I'm bummed that there are no camping spots for the two day trip. I guess I could find a nice lake house and see if anyone would border a fishing enthusiast. Probably not likely, though.
twosets Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 If they are generating a lot of water, you could make it to cooper right quick. Phil could tell you the mileage. It might make sence to have an alternative takeout if they are runnung a lot of water. Have fun George "This is not Nam. This is bowling. There are rules."
