drew03cmc Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Same guy, complete waste of oxygen! I honestly wish people would realize what they are perceived as and take into consideration that will affect their business. He is a person devoid of a human bone in his body. he does not understand why someone would get an Orvis Clearwater ($149) instead of fish bamboo or get the Zero Gravity ($645). When you bring up the price, he says, we offer layaway. Wanda is the only reason I am putting my new rod and reel on layaway. 8'1wt Orvis Trident TLS with a Battenkill 3/4 and a WF1F Wonderline or WF1F Silver Label. I am pretty psyched, but would rather drive to Tim's and spend the $40 on gas to get there than speak to this imbecile. Andy
Members Pondhopper Posted May 4, 2008 Members Posted May 4, 2008 Sorry to bring up an old subject, and most of you might know already.. but after reading this, just had to respond... I recently had the pleasure to meet Wanda and wanted to let everyone know that all the good things said about her are true, and she is no longer working for the man you described. She is working at Bass Pro in Independence now and has provided much assistance to me in the last month since I got back into the sport of fly fishing. I try to avoid the big boxes most of the time, but Wanda makes BP worth it!
jjtroutbum Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Pondhopper be sure to send her a letter of commendation to the store manager. Jeremy Hunt Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I know Wanda as well and she is a real sweetheart. She will always do well wherever she goes. It's to bad how they treated her because she devoted alot of time into that shop. I'm glad I know where she went. I'll have to give her a call and congratulate her for getting out and still doing what she loves. Accept the drift.....<>>><flysandguides.comVisit my blog
drew03cmc Posted June 11, 2008 Author Posted June 11, 2008 I live over an hour away from that BPS, and have one between me and that one. I will go to that one if time permits, just to see her. Andy
am4mu Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Hey all. I stopped in bass pro independence and visited with Wanda after work today. She looks great and seems happy. She definitely still has a passion for the sport. I told her that people on the forum were still talking about her and she seemed pleased. I'm sure she would love more visitors.
