Members Amaxwell
I am planning to spend 7 days paddling the prongs to Two Rivers and then Baptist camp to Two Rivers. I am debating bringing fishing gear. I am fortunate to live in an area with great samllie and stream trout fishing and honestly most excited at the prospect of catching Gar and Pickeral as I have never caught either. Are there many of these I either river? Are they worth tarfetinf early in the spring ? Thanks
Al Agnew
See my answer to your post in general fishing. I've seen fewer chain pickerel above Two Rivers than I have below, but there should be some up there...just look for backwaters where there is no current or almost no current. On the Jacks Fork, you should find them in the same type of places as well as the longest, slowest pools. There are more of them between Alley Spring and Eminence than either above or below that stretch. timinmo
Gavin
Plenty of gar on the Jacks Fork, not so much on the upper Current. Have caught chain pickerel on the Current but rarely above Welch Spring. The Eleven Point is allot better for chain pickeral. timinmo
timinmo
Have to agree with the above as to the pickerel. Slack water, sloughs and have caught many more on the Eleven Point. I am sure that both streams have Gar but have caught many more on slower moving, more turbid streams.
