hfdhoosier Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Great pics! My daughter is 17 and I still remember all the fishing outings we had when she was younger. Always a special time no matter if the fish cooperate or not. HFDHOOSIER Dennis Eat, Fish, Sleep,....Repeat Member: ozarkflyfishers http://www.ozarkflyfishers.org/
Terry Beeson Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 WF, Dano and I (And I think Cripple Caddis) put vintage Pfleugar Medalists on the rods we have. That reel just sets that rod off. Of course, any vintage looking reel will do the same. I got the hint from Dano and found on on eBay at a good price and in great shape made in Arkansas back in the 60s or 70s. WebFreeman Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Did you guys use 1400s or 1500s? I don't know if you can see my avatar well enough, but I have a 1595rc on my rod. Of course, I've never caught a monster, but I wouldn't even switch. I love the click, the look and the feel. I got it at BP years ago. I just hate buying stuff online. I'd like to touch it first. “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.
Danoinark Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Web I have a 1496 and an Orvis Madison made by Pflueger. Looks just like a medalist. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
