abkeenan Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 i was down on TR in late March and caught some really nice crappy. Was wondering if anyone was still fishing for them and if they have been catching any. If so where, on what and at what depth? Will be down there all weekend mostly fishing for bass but would like to get some crappy if the bass arent cooperating and also to have a nice crappy fish fry. Thanks for any help fellas. ABK
Jeremy Rasnick Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 If it were me I'd try fishing for crappie around the State Line area. And I wouldn't waste alot of time. Its been my experience that the crappie will bite best the last hour of daylight. To be honest with you, I haven't heard many crappie reports right now. Cricket creek may be your best bet for consistancy. I have caught crappie in Late May as you first go into cricket there is a Red Boat Dock, we did our best starting at that boat dock working our way to the back of the creek. Black and Chartruese tubes as well as white or chartruce swimmin minnows, at various depths. IF all else fails drown some night crawlers up high in Long or Yocum creek and catch some catfish. That should be pretty hot right now and talk about good for a fish fry.
FRENZEL Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 If you have time drop some lights down. I caught some big ones near long creek marina this weekend. One was 15 1/2 inches rest were from 12 to 14 1/2. best bite was first and last hour of darkness. TRACY FRENZEL FRENZELS GUIDE SERVICE 417-699-2277 "ONE MORE CAST"

Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can get on some fish of any species. Went to Bass Pro and shelled out 100 bucks in tackle. Hopefully one of the presentations will work for us. pvspmo Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 has anybody tried the Aunt's Creek area at night lately??? I might go one night this weekend and give it a go. Will post results Tue. if I go. A weekend without the computer should be nice!
DOITLOOKIT Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Hey Pat, Roy, Greve and myself have been going to Warsaw and doing very well. Give me a call. Would like to have you go along with us. Got home last nite about 1:00 a.m. with three limits of crappie, some white and three good hybrids. The crappie bite last until dark, the the whites and hybrids move in aroung 10:00 p.m. Coach Hagan
pvspmo Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Took my twin girls down to Aunt's Creek Sunday night and let them fish from about 8 to 10 p.m. They caught 3 crappie and probably 10 perch off of our dock. I put one light in the water above a couple of beds I have hanging off the dock. I spent most of my time baiting hooks and they spent most of their time feeding the fish. As many minnows as they lost... the crappie should be getting fat. I would liked to have tried it myself, but they were having too much fun. Sorry, no pics... dad left the camera in the truck! Coach, let me talk to the boss and I will let you know. Are you planning on going this week?
