Members Jenny @ The Station Posted May 24, 2007 Members Posted May 24, 2007 The Corps of Engineers had definitely turned on the faucets this week. Lots of water running steadily. Even have the flood gates open. Some great fishing has been the result. The crappie took a while to adapt to the new conditions but have been hitting well in the still water for several days now. Whites and hybrids have been hitting well in the rolling water on spoons and occasionally top-water. We've seen some big hybrids come in this week, 10-13 pounds. Flathead and blues continue to bite well also. Some caught on spoons and shad, but XL shiners the surprise bait of the week. We look forward to seeing everyone at the lake this holiday weekend. Take your time and drive safely though, it really doesn't pay to hurry anyway when everyone else is hurrying too.
