Members Jenny @ The Station Posted June 8, 2007 Members Posted June 8, 2007 Report this week is much the same as last. Cats continue to bite well. Crappie also good but you'll catch lots of small ones between catching keepers. Not much reported on whites and hybrids as of this time. But still lots of water running so I'm sure at least a few coming in.
gonefishin Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Are they catching any Flathead? I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Someone Else's experience may differ, but I've seen no Flatheads caught out of there. I heard that a big one was caught off the pier on the east side several years ago, but you know how rumors go. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Dutch Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I have seen 3 caught by crappie fishermen; an 11, a 13 and a 20.
gonefishin Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I have seen several flathead caught at the Tailrace. I caught an 18 pounder there last spring. I would rather be fishin'. slider Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 ME AND 2 GUYS FROM WORK WENT LAST NIGHT. THEY RANE WATER UNTIL ABOUT 12:00 WE WOUND UP WITH ABOUT 45 FISH ALL TOGETHER ABOUT AN EVEN MIX OF CRAPPIE AND WHITEBASS, WE ALSO HAD 4 CHANEL CATS AND 1 FLATHEAD. SAME AS ALWAYS MORE DRUM THAN ABOUT ANY THING. WHEN I WAS AKID MY DAD AND GRANDPA WOULD START FISHING FORE DRUM AT THE POT HOLE IN FORSYTH. WE WOULD EAT THEM AND THEY WERE GOOD. I WONDER WHY THEY DONT TASTE TO GOOD FROM WARSAW? WE TRIED SOME WHEN I FIRST STARTED FISHING UP THERE AND DIDNT LIKE THEM TO WELL. WAYNE THERE ARE FLATHEADS IN THERE WE CATCH A FEW EVERY YEAR WHEN WE ARE UP THERE FISHING FORE WHITEBASS AND CRAPPIE. I LOOKED OFF THE LOOKOUT UP BY THE DAM ONE NIGHT LAST YEAR AND THERE WAS ONE THAT WOULD COME UP CLASE TO THE TOP THAT LOOKED AS LONG AS A COUCH!!! ONE GUY CAME BY THE STATION EARLY THIS SPRING AND HAD ONE THAT WEIGHED 42 LBS EARLY THIS SPRING CAUGHT IT ON A JIG WITH 8LB TEST. SAID IT TOOK HIM 45 MINUTES TO LAND. SLIDER DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
