I will be heading down from Kansas City to fish Taney from Wed to Friday. I will likely be night fishing on Wednesday and Thursday nights. I am usually by myself so its always helpful to know who to yell at for help when i float by.

If you will be fishing and need a buddy shoot me a PM and we can swap cell numbers.

On a similiar note, I need to find another KC area guy that likes to head to Taney every couple months. It makes for a long boring and recently expensive drive by myself. You better REALLY like Culvers and 12-16 hour days on the water.

Jerod,

Just remember this... When floating down the river uncontrollably, do not yell "help" or "I can't swim" or anything like that... Yell "WOW! LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THIS BIG 32 INCH BROWN SWIMMING IN MY WADERS!" That way, you will have dozens of night fishermen swarming around you casting big streamers and one might just hook your vest and drag you in...

Seriously, tho... I hope you're lucky enough that this rain doesn't mean units running all night. Only a few daring (insane?) souls such as Duckydoty brave the darkness of Taney with a unit or more running...

This time of year is always so hit and miss with the weather and rainfall amounts. At least Roaring River is close by as an emergency backup. I will be keeping an eye on the weather and flow charts. At least my boss is understanding enough to usually let me cancel or postpone trips at the last minute.

I met Duckydoty over this last winter late one night. It was about 20 degrees and the water was so high it was almost in the parking lot at outlet 2. He was fishing away.

Jerod,

You might be able to talk me into fishing one of those nights.

I have two and one of them has a built in tape measure. I refuse to use it as it hurts my ego. Since I usually fish solo, by the time I get home all the fish were 18+ inches anyway :)

Did I mention the 82 fish I caught Friday night that ranged from 20-36 inches plus the two big ones - one 46 lb Rainbow and one 52 lb Brown? Caught 'em all on my 3 wt using 11X tippet on a size 32 emerger pattern...

But, dang... I forgot my camera...

Uh... What were you saying about fishing solo and stretching the truth there, Jerod?

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna take off work on Thursday so's I can fish all night Wed. and 1/2 the day Thursday. That should be an easy 19 hrs of fishing.

I am still planning on heading that way in a couple hours. I will probably be down in the outlet area some time after 9pm. I drive a black F-150 that even Terry would gauk at :)
