gonefishin Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I think it actually started out as a slur on people who fish with worms. How to use? Just slip him on the hook, toss him in the water and you will catch more bass in one hour than all the lure fisherpersons combined do in a year. Only one catch, if you catch a bass on a crawler you have to murder it so you can eat it. :P I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Bill Babler Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Been off for a few days. Guess this stirred up a can of worms so as to speak. Gonefishin, Topic was started on keeping short fish. Could careless how many you keep. Got a feeling your not hurting the population very bad anyway. Gosh, I miss the days of Silver Mallard, to keep you in check. There is no easy thing as an easy guide day on Table Rock Lake PERIOD.... If you think so, I'll be glad to spend the day with you and your crawlers, and see how many fish we can put in the boat. I'll even pay for the gas, and worms. Go out on a practice round and see how many you can put in the boat in a 4 hour period. Catch and release of course. If its under 25, don't call. I know of very few guides that kill Bass. I have not filleted one for a client that was still kicking in the last 15 years, so I don't want to hear about a double edged sword. I use crawlers, almost everyday now on the rock so am not against it at all. Poor writing caused all this hub-bub. I just don't want people killing short fish. Most people got the gist of this however. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
jcoberley Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Bill Babler, I don't feel GF was wanting to keep short fish. I didnt get that feeling from any of his posts. I did get the feeling from the posts that people that fish with night crawlers are no good bottom sucking skum. JMO Silver Mallard, to keep WHO in check. I dont feel he has did anything wrong. I would love to go out fishing sometime. But leave the boat and fish from bank. Its a lot more chalanging!!! JMO Fish slow and easy! Borrowed this one from..........Well you know who! gonefishin Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Been off for a few days. Guess this stirred up a can of worms so as to speak. BOOO Bill. The bad pun police are gonna getcha for that one. Gonefishin, Topic was started on keeping short fish. Could careless how many you keep. Got a feeling your not hurting the population very bad anyway. I guess I missed that. Looked to me like it was a slur against fishermen who use crawlers. It also seemed that everyone who ever used a crawler eat every fish they ever caught. No, I am not bad on the bass population at all. I don't care for them much, to catch or to eat. I almost always throw any bass I catch back. It is only on a very rare occasion that I will keep one. Gosh, I miss the days of Silver Mallard, to keep you in check. HAH! :=P: Silver Mallard never seen the day..... :=P: There is no easy thing as an easy guide day on Table Rock Lake PERIOD.... You are right about that or at least not very many. Cool! Are we talking a challenge? Heck, I would like to go fishing with you Bill. I think we would get along fine. 4 hours huh? Fishing for? Using lures or crawlers? What does 4 hours cost me if I lose? I know of very few guides that kill Bass. I have not filleted one for a client that was still kicking in the last 15 years, so I don't want to hear about a double edged sword. My point is that through shear numbers caught and handled guides,(and tourney fishermen for that matter) kill more fish than they will admit. It is a known fact that a certain number of bass will die just from the stress of being caught and handled. The more days a person spends on the water and the more fish they catch the more they kill. Doesn't matter if they are eaten or not they are still dead. I use crawlers, almost everyday now on the rock so am not against it at all. I knew down deep you were a crawler fisherman. Poor writing caused all this hub-bub. I just don't want people killing short fish. Most people got the gist of this however. Bill, I have nothing against you, more often than not I agree with what you say. If I offended you in my posts I am sorry there can't be a horse race unless there are two horses involved. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
Bill Babler Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Anytime you fish the rock it is always a challange, on the bank or in a boat. Great work GF, your oponion matters here. Good luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted July 7, 2007 Fishing Buddy Posted July 7, 2007 Now, Now guy's... This was all about persons taking very short fish. It's wrong and I and a lot of others will go L.A Police Department on you about it!!! Not about guides or other tournament fishermen killing fish, (by the way guides are the best about not killing these fish, so I'm not sure were that came from??) or everyone using night crawlers, Heck, I use night crawlers a lot myself and so does every guide on this lake, and we can do it without killing the fish! So if you want some fish go get them, enjoy!! Let's just stop trash talking on everyone and talk about fishing!!! Now go fishing, see you on the water Capt. Don Capt. gonefishin Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Like I said I am sorry if I misunderstood the original post. I thought it was a slap at anyone who ever fishes with a worm. I did not see anything about short fish in the original posts. "LA Police department"?? Maybe a career change should be considered. LOL I would rather be fishin'.
