Does anyone use a TFO Pro series? I am looking for a new 5 weight but have a budget and I liked RRO's price on this rod.

Is there a huge performance difference between this and a TiCr?

How's your casting? If you are a "good" caster, I'm sure you would like the pro. But before you buy, I'd take one out and give it a wave or two in the parking lot...

TIGHT LINES, YA'LL

they are great rods. and yes they are compareable to the TiCR

I have been using a BPS White River classic for a couple of years (6 wt) and I can handle it well but I am looking at going with a faster action (in a 5 wt also as the 6 wt seems to heavy at times). The classic is rated as moderate fast but I'll have to test the Pro to see if the performance is better.

My brother recently bought a 8'6" 4wt pro. He loves it and has no complaints so far after having fished a variety of flies from small dries to #10 weighted streamers.

I have had a TFO pro series 9ft 5 wt for a couple years now. I have the orvis battenkill barstock reel as well. I like them both and they have landed me plenty of porkers since my purchase.

Good Luck

I took a 10 foot 7 wt pro up to ohio last winter on a steelhead trip. It performed well enough that I just bought a 9 ft 5 wt to use around here. I like em

In my opinion the TFO professional is a very good rod. But I've got a friend that's got the same rod as you - a BPS classic. Although his is a 5 wt. Whenever I cast his rod I'm always impressed that it is a relatively inexpensive rod but it casts really well and is a good looking rod to boot.

I guess what I'm saying is I'm not sure the TFO Pro is that much better? Although that's subjective and just an opinion. The TFO does have a much superior warranty - lifetime. Definitely cast before you buy.

Just my .02
