Fished from 9-1.

Soooooo much shad where I was at. Hundred yard stretch of water just loaded with them anywhere from an inch long to 5"+ flipping around me everywhere. Not a good sign when they are just casually swimming around on the surface with very little if any schooling fish chasing. A few times I saw some shad spook and swirl but come to find out it was BIG bluegill chasing them and they would grab a micro jig with a  gob of power worms or a small little Cleo spoon. The gills kept me busy most of the time ,the bass bite was done for me by 10:00 having caught all of them in the first hour..

Caught one keeper lm bass on a jig,and one on a spinnerbait, and the rest came on lipless crankbaits around the shad. None of these fish were on the bank. Had one double with a short lm  that caught the front hook and a 17" smallie on the back hook. Caught these fish in less than 10' of water with the gills being concentrated in the 2-4' zone and the bass were in 2-8'.

No wind but there was a little overcast. Tried a whole bunch of baits from top to bottom but burning the lipless with a high speed  reel was the most productive.

Water temp was 71 with about a foot visibility.
