Danoinark Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Griffith Odyssey, fits on either a base or screws to a table. Around a hundred. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"

Danoinark Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Here is a picture and description of the Odyssey. its an upgrade from the one I have. Just a little higher. http://www.shiftoutdoors.com/Merchant2/mer...fin-odyssey-cam and here is their entry level full rotary vise at only 80 bucks. Both have c clamps, but you can get a universal table base for little or nothing. http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0011287316244a.shtml I am sure the local fly shops will have them at the same price, and you can get them to show you the intricities of using the rotary functions, etc. Also pick up a base. The Caddis Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I went from the Griffin Odyssey Spider Vise ($80) to the Renzetti traveler ($165), then back to the Griffin. For the $ the Griffin is a great choice. Just my opinion and I'm sure that others will have theirs, and that's ok, that's why there is a choice.
Zach Bearden Posted July 8, 2007 Author Posted July 8, 2007 Hrmm caddis only 1 problem with wat u just said... this is sayin the Odyssey is 144 and your sayin 80,.... "Its clearly Bree time baby!" Danoinark Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Zach The griffin odyssey is 144. He is talking about the griffin odyssey spider for 80. Look at the links I left you in the earlier post. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
jdmidwest Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Renzetti Traveler Cam Pedestal would be a good choice. I upgraded from the original traveler last year and I love it. Spend a little extra money now and get the vise you want now as it will last for many years. I bought the old vise in 1991 and have tyed many flies on it, both for pleasure and for sale. Any of the better vises out on the market will probably last you forever. With the exception of the cheap India vises with the soft steel heads, any American vise has hardened heads. I have a collection of old Herter's vises that still tye today as good as they did in the fifty's. They did not make a good rotary back then and the steel tended to rust. Leonard Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Call or e-mail Phil... to see if Phil has a vise you are look for... I got my Griffin Odyssey Spider Vise at Phils... I love it!!!! http://www.taneycomonights.com
