Crippled Caddis Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Anyone got any boatbuilding progress to report or has the cold weather halted your projects as it has my own? Also----I'm rereading Larry Dablemonts' book 'The Authentic American Johnboat' (C. 1978) and on pg. 13 he notes that there is an original Barnes built jon on display at the School of the Ozarks near Branson. Has anyone ever seen it? Members Ozark Posted February 27, 2008 Members Posted February 27, 2008 Tom weather and that four letter word have kept me from get any building done. I got to meet Larry Dablemont in Nixa last weekend at the swap meet. Interesting guy he says that he's writing more on the White River Jack boats to be published later this year. I've heard about the boat at Cof O but not seen it. See ya this Sunday afternoon. Paul
WebFreeman Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I would guess it's at the foster museum. Can't remember it, but I'm sure that's where it is. While you're there, get your pic taken on the Bev. Flysmallie Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 Yeah it's been way too cold in the garage for me. I do have everything ready and as soon as I get a little extra time I'm gonna get it done. I have found a heated shop to use, so now all I need is some time.
Terry Beeson Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I got to meet Larry Dablemont in Nixa last weekend at the swap meet. Swap meet? Last weekend? In Nixa? Dang... I missed it. They need to advertise that one better. I would guess it's at the foster museum. Can't remember it, but I'm sure that's where it is. While you're there, get your pic taken on the Bev. Hillbillie's truck. You gonna post your picture in Jethro's seat, Web? Members Ozark Posted February 27, 2008 Members Posted February 27, 2008 It wasn't that big mainly unneeded items. It was pretty much over by noon.
WebFreeman Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Luckily those pictures have been lost to the ages or the monster in my attic that seems to eat stuff. “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.
