Don't know if this is exotic enough, but went with a group of 33 kids and youth leaders to colorado to raft, camp and climb Mt. Harvard. Well it just so happened that my fly rod made the 18 hour school bus ride in one piece!! Fished a Mountain lake named Bear lake, what a beautiful, clear cold lake that was. I fished for @ 2 1/2 hours and caught four beautiful cutthroat trout. One was about 6 inches long and the other 3 averaged about 14 inches apiece and were fat and colorful. /caught two on zebra midges and two on micro jigs. Also fished a small MT stream and caught @ 15 small trout I think they were cutthroat. Also fished a stream that ran into the Ark. R and got 10 browns and 7 more that looked like small rainbows or cutthroat. The coloration of these fish varied considerably so I'm not real sure what kind of trout they were. I do know that when they were hooked they went crazy and air borne, I broke a cou[ple off because they were so wild. What a blast. We had a great trip, enjoyed great scenery, wildlife and learned alot by spending a week with a bunch of teenagers who truely love life. Vince

I'm heading to Estes in August... I'll try my hand at the mystery trout!

I bet you had your hands full with a bunch of teenagers - but still a blast! Hopefully later this summer I'll get a quick trip to Colorado myself. My son-in-law just got a job near the Kansas / Colorado boarder so a visit to them could turn into a fishing trip as well. Thanks for the report.
