Micheal Kyle Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I will not be able to make it down tonight 5 nights in a row she says no. Going to the Bellamy Brothers concert. I would bring the 5 wt. It will be sufficient for this time of year. The only time e a cast a heavy rod is during the fall. Put 3x or 2x leader and tippet, or you can use straight 8-10lb line. jjtroutbum Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 darn, missed this post to much time chasing the ladys around the swimming hole "pool" lately. I really should pay more attention. jay bird Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Went last night on a whim and saw all your cars/trucks down there. Could not see because of the fog so went down to KOA. Had fair luck 10-15 for both of us in 2-3 hours. I was really rusty since this was my first time down in about a year. How did all you guys do up by number 2?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 14, 2007 Root Admin Posted July 14, 2007 The word I got is they bombed... very slow.
Danoinark Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 The word I got is they bombed... very slow. Well it sure was for me.. a night of short strikes and 2 second hookups. I struck completely out. It was good seeing Flex again and meeting SIO3. Flex, Terry and I fished just downstream of #2. I think Terry said he had five and Flex a couple or so...but Me ZERO. Leonard took Pete and George down to the gauntlet I believe and as I was pulling out of the parking lot he said they got into some nice fish. Leonard thanks for the seahorses, they are always tasty. Terry Beeson Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Yep... after a couple of hours on the water, chest high in cold water, and Leonard announcing he had seahorses in the van, to HECK with those finicky fish. Good job on the seahorses, Leonard. I got there about 9 and talked with Jason from JW's forum for about an hour before hitting the water. I started at Outlet 2 with a pine squirrel sculpin and got a few takes and landed two. Then switched to an Ace of Spades and started getting more taps, but only hooked up with three. It was ssssloooowwwww.... I think it's because Duckydoty wasn't there... Good seeing Flex and meeting the other guys. Thanks for the Fosters, Flex and hope you do well in Mt Home. Keep us posted. Dano... I think I'm changing "honey holes" next time...
