...do's ?...are you talking dissolved oxygen levels?

one more question...why do most fisheman especially the guides extend their arms out while holding the fish to make the fish appear larger than it is...is it marketing strategy or otherwise ?...just curious

DOs are Dissolved Oxygen levels, yes...

As for extending arms, that is an old photographer's "trick" that is used in many photos taken by professional photographers. They know how to get the right angles and so forth. Most fishermen who have anyone with any real experience behind the camera will be told to hold the fish out. But it is to make the fish appear as large as possible. Many fishermen have picked up on that "trick" so it is very common now.

Also, for those who don't know this... If you hold the camera down a bit and take the photo from a lower angle, it makes the fish look even bigger!! Try it some time taking three photos... one from slightly above (if you have a rock or something to get above the fisherman), one at eye-to-eye level, and one from about eye to hand or a lttle below level.

Note my avitar for example... taken from above... Makes that 32 inch brown look only half that size... :goodjob:

marketing strategy it is...have a ton of pics shot from every angle imaginable.

my avitar the pack of smokes under the bottom fish is a good reference.

Terry,

You told me that was one of your old porn tricks.....

to angle the camera upward to make everything appear bigger.

You ol' dawg...now you're doing it with the fish too! :shy:

The casting is coming right along I think. I think I have gotten most of the abrupt stops out of my cast. I've noticed that I have been getting less tailing loops. It's amazing what some practice can do. My dad has recently invested in some gear and is well on his way to becoming a fly fisherman. I'm guessing he will be getting a hold of you one of these days to set up some casting lessons.

Yes that is correct, it's a great marketing strategy. And who wants to look at a fish from far away. I also like up close pictures so I can see the differences in each trout.

How big do you think this trout was? Just curious.

Hmmmm... that brown is.... 18 inches... WHUD I WIN!!!... WHUD I WIN!!!!

Rich... there's a fine line you have to work in porn... you want SOME things to appear bigger, but some things smaller... if you know what I mean... Not that I would know...

Well, I just measured that fish with my 25' stanley tape measure, and it was just under 6". Thats really not that big of a fish if you ask me

Yep, I held that tape right up to the puter screen and measured him for real!:lol:
