DeepDiver75 Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Check out Charteredwaters.com. The gentleman that owns the shop is the original creator of the G-Bug and a super nice guy.
The Caddis Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Go see the shop, Brett is a super nice guy. Buy some, or at least the matierals to tie it.

The Caddis Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Zach, I'm in Oklahoma too. Order some online, and then when you're in Branson or close by, go see him, heckuva nice guy. I'm planning on making the 2+ hour dirve to Gore tomorrow to get some therapy with trouts.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 20, 2007 Root Admin Posted July 20, 2007 I think there's a recipe on the fly recipe forum here. Do a search for it.
Terry Beeson Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Caddis... Just be careful around Gore and don't run into the bridge and let it fall on your head... (They got trouts in Gore? Dang... wish I'd-a knowed that a few years ago... use to go through Gore about twice a month... shesh...) The Caddis Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Terry, on my drive through Gore today, they got a sign that says, "Trout capital of Oklahoma" Zach - caught alot of smaller fish today, 6-8 inches. In the past the usual size has been 9-12, any reason? Still had a fair amount of larger with the biggest going 16". G-bug was good today, a ginger one size's 26 to 20. Also soft hackles did fairly well, and even caught a pair on a crackleback. I tried the crackleback after one took off with my palsa float. Pictures and story to come in another thread...... Funny thing today. I'm in the lower parking area and notice an RV with Oregon plates. The first question, why would you come to Oklahoma from Oregon to set up camp alongside the Illinois. Even funnier, a guy fishing, and I'm not kidding, in a head to toe neoprene wet suit with a cowboy hat.
Zach Bearden Posted July 21, 2007 Author Posted July 21, 2007 HAHAHAA ive seen him before lol.... though it maybe the trout capital of Oklahoma we dont have a single fly shop until tahlequah... Theres alot of smaller fish in the upper reaches because them stripers are bout to eat em all! lol thts my guess anyways... I havent fish for trout in a while since my minds been stuck in the clouds with stripers and Montana lol. "Its clearly Bree time baby!" Member: 2009 U.S. Youth Fly-Fishing Team.
