Members Robert R. Posted July 30, 2007 Members Posted July 30, 2007 Got the chance to fish the Little Red for a couple hours Friday and then again on Saturday. Had a great time putting 50+ fish to hand in a few hours. I tried several different things including zebra midges, but ended up going back to my old stand-by the sowbug. Probably missed half as many fish as I caught, but thats usual for me and the type of fishing I do. Nothing big, 14" rainbow was probably the biggest thing. Caught a few browns. All good fish if you know what I mean. Already looking forward to the next trip.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 30, 2007 Root Admin Posted July 30, 2007 Where do you fish when you go down there? I'm not versed in placed to fish on the LR. Thanks
Members Robert R. Posted July 30, 2007 Author Members Posted July 30, 2007 I spent the whole time this trip fishing the shoals that stair-step downstream below Swinging Bridge. I like the water there and it caters to my style of flysihing. I have fished a good bit at JFK and had good outtings theres as well. I have also fished Libby's and Cow Shoals, but not in the last 5 or 6 years. I have read some good reports coming from Libby's the past couple weeks, but I am just not that familiar with that section of the river.
