Members RandyL
In looking at the maps Lilley put on the internet, I think the area he describes as from Lookout to the Sycamore Tree" looks the most promising. http://lilleyslanding.com/lt_maps/lo-sy.php Questions: 1) Can you boat and fish this area not matter how much water they are letting out with a 16ft aluminum boat? 2) Can you go upstream from Lookout hole if they aren't letting out much water? 3) Are the things identified on the map easy to spot such as Tennis Court, Trinity Rock, Round Rock? 4) How do you id Lookout Hole when boating? Thom
1. It is tough with more than 2 units but possible by going upstream and floating down and fishing jigs, eggflies, or larger nymphs or scuds. If more than 1 unit you will need extra weight to keep close to the bottom. You can also get behind the islands and fish from out of the current into the seam of the current and do well with 2 or 3 units running. With 4 units it is time to go to the cabin and tie flies for later. 2. You can't go upstream very easily with no water running unless you have a jet boat. 3.Tennis court is easy to id but the others need to be shown for the first time. Basically most of the bank from lookout down is good fishing and you will see bvery identifial markings, trees, homes that you can id for yourself. 4. Lookout hole is just below the island by point royal where the channel narrows going up to the old KOA area. If the water is off that island is about as far as you can venture without a jet boat. Usually there are several waders at the narrows by the island. I fished those areas with my grandson last week and caught about 30 each day. If you search my posts (thom) I have reports on what I used mosts days Thom Harvengt
twosets
Hi Randy There are many spots up stream from lillys to ruin a prop. The best advice would be to talk to the dock guy at lillys, they have a map and I am sure that they would be happy to point out the hazzards. The best thing is to go up with someone who knows the waters. In general 1) short creek creek comes in on the left as you go up stream, there is a lot of shallow gravel below the creek, stay to the right as you go up stream. 2) fall creek is on the right above short creek, approach from the left, as you get to the house on the left with the track boat lanch ramp angle across the river to the concrete ramp on the right side. Go up the right side until you get to the brush pile, then angle back to the left toward the log that looks like a gator. Then stay on the left side in the channel about 10 ft from the left bank until it starts getting deeper. There are still huge submerged rocks to look out for as you go up toward lookout. There is really no reason to go above lookout unless the water is very high and fast, and even then there are plenty of fish between lookout and fall creek if you are interested in the restricted waters. You can see a platform with a fence at the top of the bluff that is the "lookout" for the lookout hole. Good luck. Check out Bill Babler's posts (or better yet, hire him for a day or half a day) and you will get a ton of info on how to navigate and fish tany. George "This is not Nam. This is bowling. twosets
There is a great public ramp at cooper creek, if you are going up to the restricted waters it is a shorter boat ride than from branson. Lilly's is on the right just up stream from cooper creek, you can't miss it. "This is not Nam. This is bowling. There are rules."

loo10
1.) You can boat & fish the restricted area upsteam from Fall Creek to Lookout with a 16' jon boat with no water running...just be careful. 2.) It's shallow. Probably not without a jet outboard. 3.) Tennis court is easy. Others go by various names. 4.) When the bluff starts to angle downward, if you look up you will see the fenced railing along highway...that is Lookout. Lookout Island is dead ahead across from Point Royale. Good luck. loo10 Rich Looten Springfield, Missouri "If people don't occasionally walk away from you shaking their heads, you're doing something wrong."- John Gierach
Members RandyL
3 years ago I fished the area upstream from Fall Creek (to Lookout hole area?)when they weren't generating much water and fished along the steep bluff bank on the West side. What I don't really know is how to ID specific spots and areas to concentrate on. We pretty much just plugged the bank as we drifted along with small jigs and did OK. Thom
Fishing small jigs will work now. Small green and pink 1/100 or 1/80 worked well last week. If you can pick up some tung head or brass head hare's ears they will work also. Pluging the banks is fine but we did well on both sides of the boat last week early in the morning before the sun was bright. The gravel side of lookout and below also produced. Look for dimples on top (midging) and try stripping crackleback or fishing copper head zebra midges in black or red under a small float or a large elk hair caddis. This all worked last week in the area from lookout down ane also in short creek on the drop of the channel across from the condo's. Sorry I omited this: Fish the midges about 12" under the float ane strip the cracklebacks just under the surface. Thom Harvengt
