Members DeadHead Posted August 7, 2007 Members Posted August 7, 2007 While reading an article on this site that B. Babler wrote on keeping bass, it referred to these 2 years about a fish kill that happened on Table Rock. What was the reason or cause in regards to the events? I moved to the area back in '03 and so wasn't in the region.
Dutch Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Largemouth virus. And something quite similar to it hit Bull Shoals in 2002. It killed a fishery that had been going since the mid 50s. There were thousands of white bass caught from K Dock to the Powersite Dam each winter and spring. As of the spring of 2003 they were all but gone. While the Table Rock fishery had done a good job of recovery, the Bull Shoals has not and doesn't seem to be going to in the near future.
rps Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 The table rock recovery has been a slide over to spotted bass abd other substitutes. The largemouth are now beginning to come back. Personally, I can't believe how strong the fishery is. rps
