jdavis Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Has anyone been fishing the trophy section in the last week or so? How have the water conditions been?
jdavis Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 The trophy area runs from Hootentown to Galena. I beleive the restrictions are one black bass over 15" per day.
RSBreth Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I have, just been way too busy to post. Water is clear, low, and it's time to be stealthy.
Flysmallie Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Water is clear, low, and it's time to be stealthy. Wow, I haven't had a chance to fish it in awhile, but this is how I like it. Gonna have to get back to town and whip out a secret weapon on those smallies. There won't be much stealth to my approach, pretty much impossible, but I'm sure I can get some takers.
catman70 Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Can you wade in the trophy area, or is it too deep? Only looking for a couple hours worth. Thought we'd try Hootentown, McCall Bridge or the access off Horsecreek Rd. Any recommendations? Thanks!!
jdavis Posted August 29, 2007 Author Posted August 29, 2007 You can certainly wade on the James in normal water conditions. However, the best holes are not by the access points. If you can't float and don't have private access, there is a pretty decent bluff hole below the Horse Creek access.
