Anyone Fishing?

Has anyone been fishing the trophy section in the last week or so?

How have the water conditions been?

The trophy area runs from Hootentown to Galena.

I beleive the restrictions are one black bass over 15" per day.

Wow, I haven't had a chance to fish it in awhile, but this is how I like it. Gonna have to get back to town and whip out a secret weapon on those smallies. There won't be much stealth to my approach, pretty much impossible, but I'm sure I can get some takers.

Can you wade in the trophy area, or is it too deep? Only looking for a couple hours worth. Thought we'd try Hootentown, McCall Bridge or the access off Horsecreek Rd. Any recommendations?

You can certainly wade on the James in normal water conditions. However, the best holes are not by the access points. If you can't float and don't have private access, there is a pretty decent bluff hole below the Horse Creek access.
