Members Old Stumbler Posted August 18, 2007 Members Posted August 18, 2007 Scientists say the Pavlof Volcano in Alaska, seen here in an undated photo, is set to blow. Although it may disrupt air travel, the volcano doesn't make the list of the five most dangerous in the U.S. Good Luck Boys and Girls I hate those "toe stumblin" rocks!!!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 18, 2007 Root Admin Posted August 18, 2007 It's quite a ways from King Salmon so it should affect us too much. Babler is flying out Monday to Anchorage and then to Kodiak next weekend- we'll see how it affects his travel plans. I don't go up till Sept 8th or so. Here's the news story. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,293552,00.html
Members Firefish Posted August 20, 2007 Members Posted August 20, 2007 I fished on the Kenai 3 years ago, and was considering a trip to Kodiak or the Alagnak. I'm trying to figure out my options on going back up for some salmon and trout fishing without breaking the bank by staying in a luxury lodge. Any insight would be appreciated.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 21, 2007 Root Admin Posted August 21, 2007 http://naknekrivercamp.com Bill Babler is in Anchorage- arrived today. He'll be heading to Kodiak this weekend and then to King Salmon after the first of Sept. Read all about the camp on several topics. Moose should be reporting on his trip any day now. He just got back.
