Members JackOfAllTrades Posted April 14, 2023 Members Posted April 14, 2023 Never fished Truman. Have a buddy I haven't seen in 10 years who set up a trip for us, so very excited. He said we are gonna try for a little of everything. Rather than the shotgun approach, I like to be overly prepared for what's "in season". I know whites and crappie have been doin there thing in TR and Stockton, but is there anything else I should look into more? Maybe the hybrids or even paddlefish (NEVER paddlefished before) Thanks for any tips 👍👍
Heretolearn Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 I haven't been yet, but planning on changing that next week. Likely will be in white bass and crappie. I am not a snagger, but paddlefish apparently require different gear. No idea on hybrids this time of year.
navery Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Crappie are on the banks! Find a cove and fish the banks! Any color seems to work, but i would recommend something with a little chartreuse mixed in. Bite turns on an hour before dark, but they are biting all day. They just move to 6-8 ft during the day. 1-3ft right off tthe bank at dark. Tons of limits being caught. Paddlefish will be up in Osceola. Drag treble hooks for them. Hybrids are scattered and not grouped up yet, so i would recommend trolling flicker shad on humps and rocky points. Heretolearn and Bassin4fun 2
