smallest was a 17in brown... and the biggest was a 24in bow... that was the only I caught.. rest ALL BROWNS!!... most were right at 20-21 inches... right in the 2-5 lbs range...

Hey Leonard,

I was there on Sunday for the better part of the afternoon and though I did well (caught around 15ish fish) I didn't see nearly as many browns as you must have today. Why do you think that would have been? Just because it was later in the afternoon for me compared to early in the morning for you or what? I ask mainly because I want to know when will be my best time to target some of the big browns up there. (of course other than at night)

Thanks,

Ike Lightner

IK...

well for 1..

with 2 units going I was fishing the outlet...

when they generator those fish moves in and out of the outlets...

2.. weekends are hard on the fish... fisherman everywhere... day and night..

Ive kinda stopped fishing saturday and sunday nights... because of everyone on the water those nights...

3... most of the time the bigger fish I do see has been just after the weekends.,... I think this is to do with all the people on the water over the weekend... today there was only about 4-6 people at outlet 1 fishing...

I think thats really good considering Ive it at least 15 people in there at one time...

Leonard

I find your account of your fishing success unbelievable. I was fishing in the same area from Sun through Tues noon. I didn't see anyone bringing in 20 inch browns let alone large numbers of them.

WOW..I was fishing Monday morning and saw it with my own 2 (20/20) eyes. I landed a 21 inch bow around 1030am Monday. I saw several browns that were cruising around and very large.

You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.

To be honest, the only thing I find unbelievable is that I haven't made it up there to get me some!

Anyone who doesn't believe a fishing report like Leonard's possible hasn't figured out Taney yet. There is definitely no shortage of quality fish available to be caught by someone who knows what they are doing. Judging from the one time I fished with Leonard and what I've read on this forum I wouldn't question his report at all. One of the reasons that I hesitate to post reports too often is due to the fact that the guy who reports catching fish most of the time often recieves some grief from others who were not so lucky. Taney is an unbelievable fishery and on an average day it would be tougher to get skunked than it would be to catch 100 trout. And this from someone who is not doing it professionally as Leonard is. Instead of questioning his reports we'd all be better off asking him for some advice it seems to me. Just my opinion :)

One thing is for sure... if you exaggerate or lie about reports on a forum, especially this forum and especially on upper Taney- it will come back and bite you good! There's too many people fishing up there and too many of those people reading this forum and posting.

For this reason, I don't think Leonard would lie about catching fish (especially during the day). He has too much too lose, being a guide.

I'm not saying anything about Leonard's reports in a negative light here... just stating the obvious.

On the other hand, if you have a great day... an unbelievable day... on any water and you post it, be ready to possibly take alittle heat. It happens. If people aren't posting it, they're thinking it.

Take the guess work out of the equation- take a camera! Just don't hold the fish out at arm's length :)

Lastly, and I'll shut up. I met Leonard at outlet #1 this morning at 8 am. The 2 gentlemen he spoke of were there and Leonard talked about his previous morning's catch within earshot of both of them, even told me to ask them IF I didn't believe him. I didn't, nor did they turn around and give him a funny look like, "what are you talking about???!" So it's pretty safe to say his catch was real.

And saying that... it appears we're going to have a fantastic fall season with lots of big trout!
