Members whatnext Posted January 30, 2006 Author Members Posted January 30, 2006 well by god you may just be right judgeing by your avatar. I've read some of your post but never really looked at your avatar thats crazy. I'm just trying to keep an eye out to see what i might need to bring down to get a leg up on them fish. Any ideas? What kind of fly rod do you have, I was at Dicks today looking and them had i think it was called pfluger(that could be way off) but i was wanting to try that this year.
Members Duckman Posted January 31, 2006 Members Posted January 31, 2006 Well, I've got three fly rods I use @ Taney. They are all 7'-6" to 8'-0" long in 3 to 4 weights which is, to me perfect, for those smaller trout down there. Now you are gonna wish you had a little heavier outfit when you hit one of those 20+ inchers! But it makes for a lot of fun on the lighter gear. I've got a Pfluger as you mentioned. It is a decent rod. The thing it has going for it, is that it loads the line real well and will almost spit it out by itself. I've also got a Three Forks from Cabelas. It doesn't load the line near as well and makes for a bit trickier casting. My last rod is a G-Loomis. I would not recommend spending the money on one of these high dollard' dudes @ first. I think you would enjoy the pfluger just as much as one of the top end rods. If'n ya want come on over to the house and try them all out in my pond. That way you know which one works best for ya. Let's FISH!!! And o'course have a cold'en!!! If You're Not In DEBT, You Ain't Bassin'!
