I was thinking about going on Friday or Saturday, but wondered how bad floaters would be on Sat.

CP I think the lack of reports is probably due to a higher percentage of fly fisherman on this board. And while some may disagree I just don't think Meramec Springs is "fly friendly" except during the winter catch and release season. This is due as has been stated to a lack of zones.

I have absolutely nothing against spin or bait fishing but I don't think they mix well with fly fishing. I just didn't have a quality experience at MS the times I have fished there. I haven't fished MS in the winter but I've heard it is very enjoyable fly fishing then.

flyfhsn, there is no fly fishing section. I wish that the area above the cable was open to c and r but its not. it sure is fun during c and r season though(more fly fisherman then)

SIO3 let me know next time your goin-always enjoy fishing with others(and that goes for any body)

I'll be honest, I haven't fished it much this summer. Earlier in the summer I bought a boat and have been really into catfishing/bowfishing this summer. In previous years I would have been making a post on here about every weekend or two.

I will have to at some point take the plunge-not literally-

I know, old post, but this comment brings up a funny story. Last Dec. 22nd, I drove down, met mcp633 (by the way Kyle, winter C&R, let's hit MSP). I was fishing all day, 8am-2pm and had caught a fair share of fish, including my largest bow to date, 14" (I know I know...), also missed a 5+# bow on a G-Gnat, but that's not the point of the story. The story has to do with the stream bottom where the parking lot begins, just down from the first "dam" to the right of the new boulders. It's very slick. I got felt sole wading boots, and I hit a small patch of mud and fell face first into the stream. I was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, carhartt jacket, and two tshirts...they all got soaked. So, I have taken the plunge...it was fun!
