The Caddis Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Call him Ishmael, that thar's Moby Dick. Nice fish Leonard!!!!! (even if you do need a better photo) How much did he weigh?
Leonard Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 I know I'll catch crap for this... but This is how I figured the weight... estamited: the fish is probably 23in long. (maybe longer) (it was wider the the thickest part of the net) so.. I figured 8.5 x 8.5.. 17in.. I add 2in for the width of the back so I can up with 23in fish with a 19in girth.... (this is probably not that accuate) I beleive this is the formula: LxWxL (divide) 800... which is 12.56lbs... Like I said.. this is just by the measurement from the net... I didnt have my tape last night.. thats why I used the net.. http://www.taneycomonights.com
Aeronikl Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I'm bringing my bigger net, a folding ruler and the digital camera I use for fishing when I come in October. It works good at night. Got you covered! Great fish. Gary

((Girth x Girth) x Length) / 800 = weight in pounds (girth and length are inches) Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Excellent fish Leonard! Can't wait to get down there myself for some night fishing. If luck holds out I'll be there the later part of this month or the first of October. Take care! John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
