I know I'll catch crap for this...

but This is how I figured the weight...

estamited:

the fish is probably 23in long. (maybe longer)

(it was wider the the thickest part of the net)

so.. I figured 8.5 x 8.5.. 17in.. I add 2in for the width of the back so I can up with 23in fish with a 19in girth.... (this is probably not that accuate)

I beleive this is the formula:

LxWxL (divide) 800...

which is 12.56lbs...

Like I said.. this is just by the measurement from the net... I didnt have my tape last night.. thats why I used the net..

I'm bringing my bigger net, a folding ruler and the digital camera I use for fishing when I come in October. It works good at night. Got you covered!

((Girth x Girth) x Length) / 800 = weight in pounds

(girth and length are inches)
