Members puffydisc Posted September 3, 2007 Members Posted September 3, 2007 Lets make a topic about the best lures/bait/flys to you use in Maramac Springs.I'll start: Lure-Spinners Bait-Go Get Em Trout Bait Flies- Jigs and the old faithful Woolly Bugger Now its your turn waht are the best lures/baits/flies u guys have used at Maramac Springs! Also i had a question anyone know about a green headed jig with blue tinsil on it which makes it a metallic purple? I was talking to a guy yesterday about that.
Center Punch Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 ultralight-best jig- without a question the rubber band jig(green and white) nothing comes close to that from my experience. best dough bait-not sure as i dont use it but i would have to say some dough bait with alot of chrisco in it as it gives an oil affect(as you can see i have no idea what i am talking about fly rod- best fly-best all around fly to fish every hole that the park has to offer is a size 8 weighted olive, black, or white zonker.(mind you i said to fish every hole in the park ) i have a question? how well do the rapalas and such work in the park, i know they work well in trophy area-just curious because i never used them in the park www.troutchapters.com >>>---------->(x) Jared
Seth Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Spinning Tackle: orange cheese scented trout worms green and white rubber legged jigs yellow powerbait Double D's 007 formula trout bait Secret Bait (I miss alot of fish using this bait for some reason) Fly Fishing: #14 beadhead copper john (my favorite) #10 white wooly bugger or ostrich herl bugger #14 san juan worm (colors vary from day to day) small Pink and Green globalls are also good Center Punch, I have used a 3" floating rapala when the trout kept striking my green float and caught quite a few a few times. Size wasn't any bigger than normal though. Guys use them during the C&R season and land some hefty smallies in the bend upriver from the Lacy hole.
Bman Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 BOSCO BAIT! without a doubt The only good line is a tight line
Members McCloud Posted September 10, 2007 Members Posted September 10, 2007 B-Man What is BOSCO Bait??
Bman Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 It's the best there is an old timer I met years ago(I've been fishing the park since 1964)called himself Bosco. His bait is basically dough bait. Those who knew him either loved or hated him. The only good line is a tight line
