Mom and I are going to come up to Branson for some fishing. I was wondering where a good place to camp on the river. Were looking for a good place to night fish. We dont want to have to drive to the river everytime we want to go fishing.

I dont know much about the camping on the river. I know that there is camping up past the dam. But I dont know anywhere else.

Thanks!

There's not much. Cooper Creek only has RV -I think!- You might check with them. Otherwise- State Park is the only place I know of.

There used to be the KOA - it had pretty good fishing right there - but alas it closed last year. Like Phil said the state park is fairly close - but walking distance? It would be a pretty fair walk.

Good luck

I would call Cooper Creek and see if they will allow you to rent a rv spot for a tent...they might let you. Table Rock State Park is just past the dam, but not walking distance. It is a really nice campground.

You can pitch a tent at Cooper Creek (I did it earlier this year), but it really isn't worth it. The sites they will put you on have zero grassy areas, no fire rings, and the gravel is lumpy. I'm not bashing Cooper Creek - the people are friendly and their fishing dock is great, but it simply isn't designed for tents. I'd stick to the State Park.
