Members roundtrout Posted January 27, 2006 Members Posted January 27, 2006 How far is the tailwater from Taneycomo? If I'm staying in the Branson area, what's the best way to get there and about how long would it take? (Trying to combine two trips here and take give my kids the opportunity to fish Dry Run) Do kids need a trout stamp or is there an access fee similar to the MO trout parks? Thanks! Bob Bob

Danoinark Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I would take Highway 65 South to Harrison, then taken 62/412 to Mountain Home. Take the 62/412 bypass to Highway 5 South, go 10 miles to the y, go left 2 miles to the dam. Dry Run is the creek that runs into the river near the campgrounds. There are several access points. It would take you less than 2 hours to Norfork. There are no permits or licenses for those age 15 or below. Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Members roundtrout Posted January 30, 2006 Author Members Posted January 30, 2006 Thanks Dano! That's a big help. It sounds like an easy day trip from Branson and well worth the drive. Bob
Danoinark Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 No problem roundtrout. I needed to mention that at that Y there is a store, there are signs there pointing in the direction of the dam. Have fun and let us know how you do. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
