I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma and the A/C seems to blow "tempid" air sometimes. It will still get ice cold off and on but the temperature is not as uniform as it was a year ago. I had the freon recharged and it was .5 lb low and immediately afterwards it was getting much colder, however cycling between cold and tempid (not exactly warm, but not cold enough).

I was thinking maybe an expansion valve or drier causing a problem (possibly making it difficult to get a correct pressure measurement on freon in the in the first place?). The compressor looks to be running and sounds fine, and like I said when it cycles cold it blows 41 degree air, but does not stay that way.

any ideas? I used to do this stuff for a living but after getting into the IT world 8 years ago I have no idea, especially on this vehicle
