motroutbum Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I got back from colorado on tuesday and caught some amazing fish even in the dead of winter......probably caught over 100 fish and about 50 in one day on a river there (its gold medal water but im keeping it a secret) but i also fished the san juan and caught a 6lb rainbow one of the 2 different days we fished there. ill have some pics to show when i get them off my camera but i also caught a 24x12.5" brown that has been one of the largest fish to come out of that river and it also scored me a guide job there so ill be moving shortly (believe me im gonna miss fishing taney all the time), but there are several rivers ill be guiding on out there including the san juan. tight lines motroutbum There are two types of people. I used to fish the Frying Pan in the dead of winter all the time. Great fishing there year round. But if your gonna guide in gold medal waters, why not share where the fish were caught?? You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
motroutbum Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 ok ok ok ill tell ya....i was in Durango and was on the Animas. we caught probably 100 fish between us on the last day i was there out of a single hole on the Southern Ute land (have to get a seperate license to fish Indian Reservation land. but it was amazing. ill let everyone know when ill be leaving so maybe yall can look me up out there and ill guide ya..... troutbum There are two types of people. tippet7 Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I figured it was the Animas since you said you fished the San Juan as well. Beautiful river. Where did you hook in the 6lb er on the San Juan? Did you wade or drift? You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
motroutbum Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 We were wading. I didnt have the need to hire a guide to drift or the time or money. it was in a hole right above the braids just downstream from the tip of the big island on the south side. Next time im gonna fish the main channel for some big boys. There are two types of people. Those who dream dreams and wish, then there are the do'ers. I am a do'er!
