Rusty Posted December 20, 2007 Author Posted December 20, 2007 UPDATE: Dell on-line chat (2 1/2 hours) was very helpful at fixing my problem (I hope). After talking with two seperate techs, one suggested doing a chipset drivers update. So far so good, time will only tell.
Rusty Posted December 25, 2007 Author Posted December 25, 2007 UPDATE AGAIN: Problem was not solved by chipset update. So, they decided to replace the mother board and video card. That also didn't work and now are sending me a new monitor. By the looks of it, I am going to have a completely new PC after it is all said and done. Warranties are a good thing. Expecially since I forgot I had one with this PC.
Bman Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 they replaced my motherboard, video card(actually upgradded when they replaced my video card to an awesome one)and tv tuner card.I finally figured the problem out...I replaced the MOUSE of all things, works fine now. The only good line is a tight line

Was this because the monitor wasn't working right?
Bman Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 not exactly, the mouse would freeze, then would loose the ability to go by keyboard, and screen would freeze. Hope your pup didn't get zapped. The only good line is a tight line
Rusty Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 New monitor showed up today...So far so good. At least it hasn't shut off in the past 15 minutes.
