Members Champ
I moved down from IA about a year ago. Would really like to get into some summer time catfish. Any pointers on where to go or what to use around Branson? In IA I'm used to fishing with Liver and shad guts in lakes on shallow flats next to old river channels from shore. My bro and I tried Table Rock a few times with little success. While visiting LOTO (lake of the ozarks) We've used shiners off the docks about a foot under the water. Would the same work here? gonefishin
I dont know where you was fishing on the rock but I have caught a lot of channels there however I am usually after Flathead so the channels are accidental. I know some people who fish for channels around Shell Knob. I usually fish for Flathead around Viola. I use live or fresh cut bait for Flats. If I were to go for channels I would use a prepared bait (Bee Jay), worms or cut shad. In general I have found less weight is better for channel cat. Good Luck Bud I would rather be fishin'.
