Zach Bearden Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Yep, I finally got it to open on my laptop Thanks for all the congrats guys! I couldnt beleive that I hit that 70 ft target and got 300 pts! I practice my long casts so that I can get in them trees (in the water! lol) and catch the bass. Steve, that wind was killer! When you say the highest was only 26 was that an adult or was it a kid? I think I only saw one girl that made it into the ring. Ill try and post a couple of my pictures of my salmon flies. I finished that one off, it didnt turn out too good. The crests wouldnt match up, and just a couple of different things. You ever tie a fly one the tiemco 107Y? They are in odd #'s (11,13,15s) and have a black finish. Great to use for emergers and oldschool looking dry flies! "Its clearly Bree time baby!" Member: 2009 U.S. Youth Fly-Fishing Team. Members Steve Dally Posted October 10, 2007 Members Posted October 10, 2007 Zach the 26 was an adult (pro) and the next two at 20 were also pros. Did you win the junior's distance??? That wind was knocking a bunch off the distance. Top pro was 93'8 (8wts tho), Jim Shulin from TFO, top amatuer I think was 73 something Sign Up For The Mountain River Journal - our free weekly e-magazine/fishing report Remodelled Mountain River Fly Shop Web Store
Brian Wise Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Nice Job Zach! I was really hoping to run into you on Friday. I didn't even make it to Conclave Saturday, spent all day on Dry Run having WAY too much fun helping out. Brian My Youtube Channel

Members Steve Dally Posted October 11, 2007 Members Posted October 11, 2007 i was going to say you should have had a crack with the 8wts. mind your ive thrown 8wts so little this year it was harder stretching out and maintaining some control. still i was pleased to finish under a foot behind shulin, Jim can cast very nicely, helped me a lot over the last couple of years, my accuracy sucked 20 pts lol any time your over stop by and we can go ping some line Sign Up For The Mountain River Journal - our free weekly e-magazine/fishing report Remodelled Mountain River Fly Shop Web Store
Zach Bearden Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Man, were coming over in November to fish Dry Run Creek. Its gonna be fun! *brrr* Were gonna be tent camping so thats also gonna make it even better! Maybe were going to be able to get a chance to get your daughter down there on one HUGE brownie! I got one that was 17" on my last cast! I told myself that after that fish it was an excellent way to have a good dream that night, and to always keep her in my memories as the last cast of Dry Run.
