Members maverick Posted October 9, 2007 Members Posted October 9, 2007 Hello all, I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to this fine forum. I have been here in Nixa for 30 days upon moving from southern california. This place is beautiful and a sportsmans paradise! I am here with my wife and my 3 and 4 year old boys. I have tried some socal fishing techniques here but haven't caught my first bass yet. I have been seriously bass fishing since 1990 with great success in club tournaments as well as a few pro-am BASS tourneys. I have always wanted to have the opportunity to fish these series of lakes and I'm very excited to spend some time figuring these lakes out. I currently do not have a boat, but in the near future I will own one again. I know there are a lot of tournaments here, but I just want to get some time on the water to get my confidence back. If you guys have any pointers on where to start I will definitely try them and appreciate the input. I love to fish jerk baits and spinnerbaits, and will try any technique to get some quality fish. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to participate in this great forum. Sincerely, Brian K. Scudder

None of us that fish around here have it figured out either... Welcome to the forum and good luck in your fishing... Yes, you will enjoy all the water around here for sure... Members maverick Posted October 9, 2007 Author Members Posted October 9, 2007 Terry, I see that you're from Nixa. Maybe we could head to the lake sometime and you could show me some of your fishing techniques? What lakes do you fish usually this time of year? This time of year has always been very productive for big fish for me no matter where I'm at. It may be a little early yet for the fish to be moving up in the creeks, but it's probably different around here. Brian Thanks for the welcome Russ, Where is Elk River? I'm sure I'll be dead and gone before I catch up to half of what you guys know about these lakes, but at least I know where bass pro shops is! It's a start Brian
Dutch Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 mav, Welcome aboard. I fish for bass quite a lot. I like Stockton, Pomme de Terre, Table Rock and Truman.
Terry Beeson Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Maverick, Nowdays I only fly fish and since moving here have not fished much outside of Taneycomo. I use to bass fish, but it has been a long long time since fishing Table Rock, Bull Shoals, or Norfork. I pretty much stay in the tail waters anymore. I'd probably hit myself in the back of the head with a Carolina rig or spinnerbait anymore. And my bass rigs are all rusty and dusty with 10 year old line on them... I can tell you that reading this forum, there seems to be no clear cut abosolute guaranteed method on Table Rock anymore. Of course, that's the way it is with every fishing hole anymore. But I'll let Bill and the other regulars on TR give you some insight on what has worked lately.
