slider Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 ME AND MY 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER MADE OUR WAY TO THE WOODS THIS WEEKEND. SATUARDAY WAS KIND OF FOGGY ON THE START. WE HADNT BEEN SITTING VERY LONG WHEN I SAW HIM. I TOLD MEKAYLA TO GET READY WHEN I MOVED HER TRIPOD THAT SHE USES FORE A REST I DRUG IT ACROSS HER BOOTE AND HE HEARED IT AND PICKED US OUT IMEDIELY. WHILE I WATCHED TO SEE WHAT HE WAS ABOUT TO DO SHE COUNTED POINTS. 10 POINTS! SNORT AND HE WAS GONE. THE REST OF THE MORNING WAS A BUST BUT SHE DID GET TO SEE A BIG BUCK. THIS MORNING WE WERE BACK AT IT AGAIN. ABOUT 8:30 SHE SPOTED A DEER AND POINTED IT OUT TO ME I TOLD HER TO GET READY, AS HE MOVED OUT OR THE FIELD INTO THE BRUSH WHERE WE WERE SHE PUT THE ONE SHOT ON HIM. A NECK SHOT AND DOWN HE WENT. IT WASNT THE 10 POINT BUT WAS HIS LITTLE BROTHER A 6 POINT. SHE WAS TICKLED WITH IT ANYWAY. SHE JABERED ALL THE WAY HOME ABOUT IT. THIS WAS HER FIRST ANTLERED DEER. SHE KILLED A BUTTONHEAD YEAR BEFORE LAST. WE HAD TENDERLOIN FORE SUPPER TONIGHT AND IT WAS GREAT. SLIDER DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
TroutBum4wt Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Thanks for sharing that great story Slider. Congrats to your daughter. She's becoming quite a hunter and marksmen. I'm sure those tenderloins were great. "Where There Are Trout, There's Hope" - John Gierach
